In the opening fifteen minutes it was Bootle who was the aggressor having most of the possession especially in Witton’s final third, the first effort was a chance for Conor Harwood after being played in just inside the box but the shot was an easy save for Louie Fallon to handle. At the other end however, Isaac Graham had a shot just outside the Bootle area but the ball flew just wide of the post.

Only minutes later Ben Hodkinson took an effort on his right foot when he seem through on goal but once again Louie Fallon dealt with another Bootle effort, for the remainder of the half neither side had a major clear cut chance and the scoreline finishing 0-0 in the opening half was a fair reflection for both teams.

Bootle once again started as the aggressor from kick off, Hodkinson once again had the ball at his feet in the area of the visitors but his shot was blocked by the defender and the ball was cleared from danger seconds later, eventually Bootle did break the deadlock when Sean Williams hit a first time ball which flew in at the far corner sending the Dodge Kop into cheers. Sadly however, Isaac Graham grabbed an equaliser for the visitors after his deflected shot went past Tony Thompson. Both sides had chances to snatch a winner but none came into fruition as the game finished one goal a piece.
