Bootle in Isuzu FA Trophy action this weekend

The Bucks travel to Widnes to face fierce rivals City Of Liverpool in the preliminary round of the Isuzu FA Trophy. This is the second time the two sides will face each other in seven days in two different cup competitions.

On Tuesday night at The Berry Street Garage Stadium Bootle defeated Atherton Colleries 2-0, a bounce back from a devastating 3-1 FA Cup exit against The Purps on Saturday which Mick McGraa and the Bootle’s expected and wanted. The Bucks will be attempting to carry their momentum into the next fixture against City Of Liverpool and to get some payback on their rivals after last week’s defeat and advance further into the tournament in doing so.

City Of Liverpool are coming off the back of their first league win of the season after they comfortably won 4-1 away to Wythenshawe on Tuesday night. The Purps will feel as though they have Bootle’s number given the fact they have beaten The Bucks the last three times the two sides have encountered, but nonetheless still aware of the threats their rivals could potentially bring.
