Bootle got off to a bright start within the first ten minutes of the game, but after a good spell of play from the visitors the game was 1-0 to Mossley in the 17th minute after Obua Mugalula capitalised on a defensive error of Bootle’s.
Just three minutes later Mossley doubled their lead after a Bailey Marsden effort which sent the ball straight past Tony Thompson. Former Buck Mason Fawnes whipped in a corner which found the head of Michael Brewster who claimed the assist for the goal.
Conor Harwood received the ball at his feet and had a shot outside the box in an attempt to get Bootle back in the game but his effort only fizzed over the bar.
Bailey Marsden seemed through on goal to make it 3-0 to Mossley and to snatch his second goal of the day but Tony Thompson kept out his shot to keep Bootle at only a two goal deficit. As The Bucks seemed to be attempting to find their way back into the game, Jay Roberts received a red card which seen Bootle end the first half 2-0 down and only left with 10 men.
The second half started with Andy Scarisbrick putting a ball across the face of the Mossley net but failed to find a Bootle shirt.
Jay Cooper had an attempt outside the area but the ball flew completely wide. Just a minute later Joe Woolley attempted to find a Bootle player in the box but to no prevail.
Courtney Duffus received the ball from a Jay Cooper cross but the shot only ended with the ball flying high over the Dodge Kop.
Sean Williams twice attempted to assist a team mate to pull a goal back but the first try bounced out of play and the second was successfully defended by the visitors
