The first half leaned towards Bootle in terms of performance, but a chance fell to The Bucks early on as Courtney Duffus made a header towards goal but it fell just wide. About 10 minutes later Ben Hodkinson received a long ball over the top and seemed through on goal but Thomas Thorley made a fantastic effort to get in just in time to clear the danger. Bootle attempted to create a number of chances in the area of the visitors but the first half finished 0-0.
In the opening five minutes of the second half, Jack Sherratt hit a long range effort which smashed off the post but it fell then to Thomas Jones at very close distance to the Bootle goal but put the ball wide. Kyle Campbell made a fantastic run on the left hand side and found Courtney Duffus with a pass into the middle of the Newcastle Town penalty area but Duffus failed to convert. Just minutes later, Sherratt was sent off after bringing down Campbell who was last men and as a result received a red card, Newcastle Town felt the disadvantage of being down a player for the rest of the game but still managed to walk away with a point as the game finished 0-0.
