Despite taking the lead twice in the first half, Bootle come away defeated 4-2 at Wythenshawe Town.

Within the first 15 minutes of the game, Ben Hodkinson was involved in three efforts to put The Bucks ahead. Firstly with a shot on goal saved by Greg Hall, just 5 minutes later Hodkinson put a cross in the Wythenshawe Town area but failed to find a Bootle shirt. Lastly his effort hit the crossbar.
Just 3 minutes later Sam Hughes found the net on the 18th minute mark putting The Bucks ahead 1-0, nonetheless Bootle’s joys were quickly slashed as Jean Louis Akpa Akpro equalised for Wythenshawe Town just minutes later.
The hosts seemed to gain momentum since their equaliser up until the 32nd minute as Ben Hodkinson found a net with a well hit effort inside the Wythenshawe Town area flying past Greg Hall. Just 4 minutes later however, Bootle’s lead was quickly put to a halt by a wonderfully hit Luke Nock volley. A great knock from Knock!
The second half swung massively into Wythenshawe Town’s favour having most of the possession of the ball from the kick off which paid dividends as Nick Hepple found the net, which put the home side ahead for the first time of the evening.
Bootle’s frustrations grew after conceding a third goal as they couldn’t seem to nudge back into the game despite efforts to create chances in the final third of Wythenshawe Town but couldn’t capitalise on their opportunities.
In the 77th minute of the game Wythenshawe Town found their fourth goal as Luke Nock played a pass through to Nick Hepple which seen the latter score his second goal of the game with a dinked effort defeating Tony Thompson.
Ben Hodkinson had a chance to pull a goal back for Bootle with a one on one effort up against Greg Hall but the Wythenshawe Town goalkeeper came off best in the encounter. The game finished 4-2 to the hosts and Bootle walked away from Manchester with a defeat.
