Bootle Football Club can today announce changes to the off field operations of the football club.
We rightly recognise that change is needed to ensure Bootle Football Club has the best structure in place off the pitch to enhance and support the manager on the pitch. The executive of the club have today made the following changes to help plan for the future.
Joe Doran will return to the club and lead the restructure and will become chairman of the football club.
Dave Miley will become Director of Football Operations to help and support Joe Doran.
Dave Miley says: ‘I have proudly been chairman for 5 years but feel this is the right time for a the change to start putting the building blocks in place for the plans we have for the next 5 years. I won’t be going anywhere, I’ll be working more closely with the first team whilst continuing to help build the club alongside Joe and Joe to ensure we meet our plans for the next 5 years.’
Joe Johnson says: “I am grateful to Dave for his hard work and the leadership he has shown as chairman over the last five years. He has helped me build the club both on and off the pitch and long may this continue in his new role. Bringing Joe Doran back to Bootle to lead the next phase on our journey is the right thing to do and having Dave move into the Director of Football operations is something I see as a vital role in supporting Joe. As a club we will always listen and adapt in the best interests of the club, and hope by making these changes the club will go from strength to strength.
We are 13 months in since Mick joined us at Bootle and I recognise that changes were needed to help him in this difficult time. I fully support Mick as our first team manager and I ask everyone gets behind him going forward. I know Mick loves the club and wants to be a part of the future and will work hard to make this work.
Joe Doran just like his grandad, epitomises Bootle FC and I am happy he has come back home to help lead the next chapter.”
