The visitors made their mark straight away with a goal from Akheem Rose within the first minute of the game leaving Bootle stunned after a nightmare start. After just over ten minutes into the game Bootle found themselves gaining more possession in Hednesford’s final third for a short spell but with it came no big chances as the visitors defending their goal fairly well.

A ball was played in from out wide to the Nathan Blissett as he escaped his marker and took a shot but it was blocked by Tom Hannigan. Bootle shouted for a penalty but the referee disagreed with the claims and waved play on, some disgruntled voices from the home fans seemed certain their side should’ve been awarded a spot kick as the half approached it’s stages. The first half ended 1-0 to Hednesford Town.

The second half began with Bootle on the front foot especially with a ball played into Kyle Campbell which deflected off Chris Hussey but Campbell couldn’t get there before keeper Tony Breeden. Minutes later a deflected shot from Jack Morris fell to Courtney Duffus on his weaker left foot but the shot was just too wide.

The only goal scorer of the game Akheem Rose played in Nathan Blissett shot got his shot away but was saved by Tony Thompson. Bootle still remained on the front foot nonetheless throughout the second half.

A defensive header attempted from a Hednesford shirt landed on the volley for Courtney Duffus but the shot was very well saved by Tony Breeden. Substitute for Bootle full back Michael Simpson made a run inside the box and got his shot away but was seen to by Ollie Harrison. The last big chance of the game came by way of a Lewis Earl header but was cleared off the line by Joel Taylor in the later stages of the game, this would be enough to secure an away win for Hednesford Town as they continue in an attempt to cement a play off place.
