Match Preview: City of Liverpool (A)

The Bucks travel to Widnes to take on fierce rivals City Of Liverpool in which is a massive game for both sides as they are both in desperate need of three points and to climb further up the league table.

By Brendan Doyle

After a run of bad form over the last few weeks, Bootle walked away from Stoke On Trent with 3 points in a 4-0 victory over Hanley Town just under a fortnight ago. Last weekend The Bucks had a free weekend and are hoping to capitalise on the rest they’ve had and aiming for 3 points in spectacular fashion by beating The Purps for the first time since August 2022. A victory the fans are desperate for.

City Of Liverpool have had nothing short of a disastrous season in the league campaign, The Purps are currently 21st in the relegation zone and bottom of the form guide. The recent sacking of former Purps boss Paul McNally has left the fans baffled and outraged over the club's decision. A certain few players leaving the club such as Calvin Hare and Elliot Morris hasn’t helped matters either and newly appointed boss Kevin Lynch is still yet to pick up a win as City Of Liverpool manager. A win against fierce rivals today would be a glimmer of hope for the supporters and squad members of City Of Liverpool in an attempt to turn their season around.
