Match Preview: Hanley Town (A)

The Bucks travel to Stoke On Trent to take on hosts Hanley Town. This is the first fixture Bootle have played since October 29th away to Runcorn Linnets suffering a 1-0 defeat and an exit from the Liverpool Senior Cup.

It’s no secret that Bootle haven’t had the best of starts to the campaign, however the resigning of Joe Woolley was announced on the club’s Twitter page was made on Halloween night. Woolley was a Bootle fan favourite during his short stint at the club in the later stage of the 2023/24 campaign and his resigning will not only gain the confidence of the fans, but also increases the depth in Mick McGraa’s squad.

Bottom of the table placed Hanley Town are coming off the back of a 1-1 draw in an away fixture to Avro. Hanley Town’s last and only league win was back on August 24th in a 3-0 away win to Mossley, nonetheless the hosts will be looking to capitalise on Bootle’s bad form as of late and wouldn’t be blamed for believing a first home win is possibly on the horizon.
