Mick McGraa and his squad take on league leaders Widnes at The DCBL Stadium in an effort to get three points on the board, but the obstacle in front of them won’t be easy to overcome by any stretch.

Last week Bootle’s undefeated home streak in 2025 by way of a 1-0 defeat to Hednesford Town thanks to a first minute strike from Akheem Rose, a victory in Cheshire today however, would be a massive boost for both the Bootle squad and their travelling supporters. The gaffer will no doubt have belief in his players as they’ve proven to be a difficult team to come up against in the past couple of months.
Despite sitting top of the table, as of late Widnes have only collected one point in their last three outings including a 4-0 hammering away to Clitheroe last week. This allowed chasers Vauxhall Motors to close the gap to three points, Widnes are now in a position where they need to collect as much points as possible in order to win the league and gain promotion whilst also keeping their league title rivals Vauxhall Motors off their tails. A win at home today against Bootle would be a very good start in completing that task.
