Mick McGraa spoke to Bucks TV Reporter, Brendan Doyle, ahead of this Saturday's Emirates FA Cup tie at home to City of Liverpool.
BD: Mick, fantastic win and performance on Tuesday night away to Trafford, just what needed ahead of Saturday.
MM: Yeah I thought the sending off obviously changed everything for us didn’t it? We weren’t playing great at the time but it just shows how good the lads are and how they can stick to a game plan and execute it well. You wouldn’t have thought we had ten men would you? Especially in the second half, we done really well and I think 1-0 flattered Trafford towards the end.
BD: 2 wins in 2 games, how much has this boosted the morale in the dressing room heading into Saturdays FA Cup derby day clash against City of Liverpool?
MM: The lads are buzzing, we’ve got a good bunch of lads and I think we need to have a good run in the FA Cup. We’ve got to be on it on Saturday as we know what threats they pose but I think form goes out the window on derby day and they’ll be up for it just like we will, so it’ll be a classic hopefully.
BD: Given the fact that City Of Liverpool beat us 2-0 home and away last season, how much would it mean to yourself and the dressing room to come away with a win and advance into the next round?
MM: It’ll mean everything, I don’t think we need to worry about last season because we’ve got our new group so I just think it’ll be good to get the monkey off our back a little bit and I think we owe it to the fans and everyone else at Bootle to try and get the win.
BD: Last but not least, what’s your message to the fans ahead of the game?
MM: Just be loud like you always are. I’ll be honest the support on Tuesday night away at Trafford you were loud and unbelievable. It matches Clitheroe away last season with the best support I’ve ever seen on a Tuesday night, it just shows how far we’re coming. So just be loud, support the lads and get behind them.
