Mick McGraa's message to Bootle fans

Now the dust has settled, I just want to have my say on me leaving Bootle.

I want to start by thanking Joe Doran, Joe Johnson & Dave Miley for approaching me and giving me the opportunity to be manager of this great club.

We took over in very tough circumstances and had to build a squad in October 2023 to be competitive and we did more than that, reaching the play-off semi- finals, having the best away record in the league, finished 4th which was Bootle’s highest ever finish in their history.

Our current season has seen a lot of change in staff and players we wanted to push on and be even more competitive and we signed a lot of very good players. We had a great start but couldn’t maintain it and we were very inconsistent. Lots of incomings and outgoings and we struggled to find form and eventually leading to me losing my job.

I also want to thank the fans who I enjoyed many good nights in Frank’s Bar and we all had honest conversations throughout my time.

Also, the Inclusion Bucks totally changed my outlook on football. They are the real footballers for me.

I also want to thank every member of staff and every player who worked alongside me. We had some great times on and off the pitch.

I am gutted to leave but I know I gave everything to make it work and will be a better manager for this experience.

Up The Bucks,

Mick.
