From the end of April our pitch and facilities under went a period of sustained community use.
We hosted multiple charity matches, all our youth teams had a chance to play on the pitch, we hosted the Bootle Bucks Inclusion tournament in aid of raising funds for their Swansea trip and we hosted 10 cup finals, including the George Mahon, I Zingari, Liverpool Business Houses, LCFA Vets, Bootle JFL and the Echo Shield.
On Tuesday the renovations of the pitch began, which include, scarification of the existing surface to remove thatch and weak grass.
The application of root zone and sand which is drag matted to ensure a level surface. This is followed by a verti drain to reduce compaction and pre seed fertilizer before the application of grass seed. What follows is period of intense maintenance including watering, cutting and general TLC of the pitch until we’re ready to play on it again in July.
If anyone would like to help in this period with any maintenance of the pitch or the surrounding areas at the ground please email info@bootlefootballclub.co.uk
