Bootle Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Michael Simpson from Widnes.
Simpson, a right-back who can cover as a midfielder, joins from table-toppers Widnes FC. He arrived at the DCBL Stadium in November 2024 to re-join manager, Michael Ellison, after previously playing under Ellison with City of Liverpool and Runcorn Linnets, where the pair lifted the North West Counties Premier Division in the 2017/18 season.
As well as this, Simpson brings experience in the Northern Premier League, knowing what is required to be promoted after winning the NPL West Division with Warrington Rylands in 2022, as well as also featuring for Skelmersdale United during his career.
