Williams becomes a Buck

Experience midfielder joins from Warrington Town

Midfielder Sean Williams makes his arrival to Vesty Road after signing for The Bucks coming from Warrington Town where he made 203 appearances for the club across two spells.

Sean made history for The Yellows during his time by scoring their first ever goal in National League North division in their opening day victory against Southport last August. The rest of his career CV consists of Stockport County, Vauxhall Motors, Hyde FC, Colwyn Bay, Halifax Town, two spells at Altrincham, Hinckley United, Hednesford Town and Telford United.

During his time at Warrington Town, Sean helped The Yellows gain promotion to the National League North and also helped Altrincham step up from National League North to the National League Conference, he’s clearly a very well experienced player when it comes to gaining promotions and hopefully can add another one to his name here at Bootle.

We sat down with Sean after he made his move to Bootle official and he seemed more than pleased to be playing football back on Merseyside under the management of Mick McGraa.

“When the gaffer phoned me up it made me feel a million dollars that he took a real interest in me and anyone who shows that much care means a lot to me.”

We asked Sean what he offers to the team and what he can do to help Bootle achieve their objectives for next season, “I’m hoping to make the team a better side at what I can do and then hopefully people will judge me down the line when we’re further into the season. I want promotion and I only ever come to win games, so getting promoted is where I stand at.”
